Job summary

Asset Living is seeking an Assistant Community Manager to oversee daily operations and financial functions at an affordable housing community. You will supervise on-site staff, manage leasing activity, and ensure compliance with policies and fair housing guidelines.

As part of the on-site leadership team, you will optimize cash flow through delinquency management, post charges, and accurate recordkeeping, while coordinating maintenance, resident relations, and risk management.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required or equivalent experience.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred or two years housing industry experience.
• One to two years related experience and/or training considered.

Responsibilities

• Posting all payments and income from applicants, residents, and non-residents accurately and timely.
• Processing and reconciling daily accounts receivable.
• Monitoring and following up on bad debt; sending late notices and handling evictions as needed.
• Helping the property meet budgeted revenues, expenses, and Net Operating Income.
• Posting charges to resident and non-resident accounts and bill-back of utilities when applicable.
• Managing month-end closing procedures and reporting.
• Maintaining organized records and auditing resident files.
• Walking units, posting move-out charges, statements, and security deposits refunds.
• Regular on-site attendance and supervising staff to ensure policy compliance.
• Developing and implementing resident retention programs and conducting leasing activities.
• Overseeing customer service and coordinating maintenance requests and vendor relations.
• Ensuring compliance with Fair Housing laws and OSHA requirements.

Education

High School Diploma or Equivalent

Bachelor’s degree preferred

two years experience in the housing industry
