Job summary

Vancouver Public Schools in Vancouver, WA is seeking a Paraeducator, Learning Support for a one-on-one role supporting a student with identified needs. The position runs 6.5 hours daily for 9 months each year, under supervision of a certificated teacher.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or GED; an Associate's degree or college credits and a ParaPro assessment are preferred. Strong interpersonal skills and teamwork are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or GED with related educational experience.
• Preferred credentials may include an Associate's degree or equivalent college credits.
• ParaPro assessment or similar credential as evidence of qualification.

Responsibilities

• Support individual students under teacher direction in reading, writing, math and social/behavioral areas.
• Assist with class activities, materials preparation, and data collection for progress reports.
• Supervise and ensure safety during transitions and lunch periods.
• Maintain confidentiality and collaborate with certificated staff to meet student goals.
