Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and be at least 18 years of age.
• One year of job related experience working with children in an educational setting, preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team.
• Experience as part of an educational team, preferred.
• Strong problem solving, analytical, and conflict resolution skills.

Responsibilities

• Treat co-workers, supervisors, students, parents, and others with dignity and respect at all times.
• Serve as a positive role model for students and practice expected behaviors.
• Work in a flexible and cooperative manner.
• Support certificated staff in developing goals for each student.
• Assist with planning and evaluating learning goals and progress.
• Oversee student behavior and assist during class activities as directed.
• Tutor or guide students in various subjects and maintain records.
• Work with small groups including students with special needs.
• Produce and assemble teaching materials and assist with data entry.
• Grade/correct papers and homework utilizing a rubric or key.
• Oversee students during arrival, transitions, and on field trips as directed.
• Attend training meetings to broaden expertise.
