Job summary

Vancouver Public Schools in Vancouver, WA, is seeking a Special Program Paraeducator 1, Life Skills to support a student in a one-on-one role. The position is 6.5 hours per day for 9 months per year and is non-exempt under FLSA.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and one of the following: an Associate’s degree (90 quarter-60 semester credits), 72 quarter/48 semester credits from an accredited institution, or a ParaPro score of 461+.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with one of the credential options above.
• Experience with children in educational settings preferred.
• Ability to learn and work on a team to support classroom goals.

Responsibilities

• Assist teacher in implementing and evaluating IEP goals.
• Provide instructional support and behavior management under supervision.
• Assist with data entry, record keeping, and material preparation.
• Support student safety and supervise during bus assignments as needed.
