Job summary

Evergreen Public Schools, Wy’East Middle School in Vancouver, WA, seeks a Special Education Paraeducator to assist instructional activities and support students with IEP goals. Reports to the Special Education Instructor and Building Principal. 6 hours daily, 190 days/year, with 9:35 a.m.–4:05 p.m. schedule and 30-minute lunch.

Minimum qualifications include HS diploma, 455+ on ParaPro or higher education/credits; apprenticeship program possible. State-mandated training provided after hire.

Qualifications

• Be at least eighteen years old and have a high school diploma or equivalent; AND
• Must meet one of: ParaPro score 455+ on ETS/PRAXIS; Associate degree or higher; 72 quarter credits / 48 semester credits at 100-level or higher; Paraeducator Apprenticeship Program.

Responsibilities

• Provide special education services and supports to eligible students.
• Communicate effectively with students, staff and parents.
• Assist in organizing and preparing instructional materials and data collection.
