Job summary

Mercy Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) for the Med Surg Oncology unit at Fairfield Hospital in Ohio. The PCT will assist nurses with basic patient care, monitor vital signs, and support patient comfort and mobility under supervision.

The role requires compassion, good communication, and teamwork. Prior acute care or long-term care experience is preferred and BLS certification is preferred upon hire, with opportunity to obtain it if needed.

Qualifications

• Nursing aide training completion or STNA/Nursing aide certification.
• Ability to obtain/maintain BLS certification.
• Recent experience in acute care, physician's office, home health or long-term care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic patient care including comfort, hygiene and mobility support.
• Monitor patients' health and vital signs; report changes to nurse.
• Deliver high-quality customer service to patients and families.
• Document care activities accurately and promptly.
• Assist with hand-offs and ensure continuity of care.
