Job summary

Bon Secours Mercy Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) for the Med Surg Unit at Anderson Hospital in Ohio. The role supports nurses with basic patient care and monitoring, while maintaining room cleanliness and patient comfort.

You will work under licensed staff to ensure safety and quality of care. Responsibilities include vital signs, hygiene, feeding, mobility assistance, and thorough documentation.

Qualifications

• BLS Basic Life Support preferred, must obtain from approved source prior to direct patient care.
• Must have completed one of: nursing aide training program OR STNA/CNA OR nursing program with clinical nursing course/rotation OR 1 year of relevant clinical experience.

Responsibilities

• Provides basic patient care incl. comfort, vital signs, personal care and hygiene, mobility assistance.
• Acts as liaison between patient and nurse to report changes/concerns.
• Delivers high-level customer service to patients, families, visitors and staff.
• Documents patient care accurately and timely.
• Participates in hand-offs of pertinent information on arrival and departure.
• Performs delegated tasks once competency is validated.
• Mobilizes patients using safe transfer techniques.
• Encourages patient independence in activities of daily living.
• Individualizes care based on patient preferences.
