Job summary

Mercy Health in Perrysburg is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) to support Registered Nurses and clinicians in the Progressive Care/Intermediate Care Units. The role involves sanitizing rooms, monitoring vital signs, and assisting patients with basic needs such as feeding and grooming, under supervision.

The ideal candidate will have completed a nursing aide program or CNA certification, with BLS preferred. Experience in acute care settings is good, and EPIC EHR training is a plus.

Qualifications

• Must have completed nursing aide training program OR CNA certification, or equivalent clinical experience.
• BLS Basic Life Support preferred upon hire.
• Recent experience in acute care, physician offices, home health, hospice, or long-term care.

Responsibilities

• Provides basic patient care including comfort, vital signs, personal care and hygiene, and mobility assistance.
• Acts as liaison between patient and nurse to report changes or concerns.
• Maintains accurate, timely documentation of patient care.
• Participates in hand-off/report of patient and department needs upon admission and discharge.
• Performs delegated tasks once competency is validated.
• Mobilizes patients using safe transfer techniques and encourages independence.
• Tailors care to patient interests and independence.
