Mercy Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) for the Med Surg Unit at Anderson Hospital in Ohio. The PCT provides basic health care and support under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, assisting with patient care, hygiene, feeding, and mobility.

The role emphasizes accurate documentation, effective communication with nursing staff, and safe patient handling. BLS is preferred and nursing aide training or equivalent experience is required.

Qualifications

• Provides basic patient care and support under RN guidance.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic patient care including comfort, vital signs, personal care and mobility.
• Act as liaison between patient and nurse to report changes.
• Document care accurately and timely in patient records.
• Participate in hand-off reports and communicate department needs.
• Perform delegated tasks once competency is validated.
• Mobilize patients using safe transfer techniques.
