Job summary

Merck & Co. is hiring an Oncology Sales Representative to drive growth in the Washington, DC territory. This field-based role requires engaging with customers, educating stakeholders, and meeting or exceeding sales targets while traveling as needed.

The position emphasizes collaboration with cross-functional teams, understanding tumor pathways, and delivering patient-centered messaging for oncology products.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with at least 6 years of sales experience
• Minimum of high school diploma with at least 8 years of equivalent experience
• Equivalent experience can be professional sales experience, healthcare/scientific field with oncology experience, marketing or military experience
• Valid driver’s license and ability to drive
• Travel 10–15% including overnight travel
• Residency in or near the district

Responsibilities

• Attain or exceed assigned sales goals for the geography.
• Understand customer needs and build business relationships with key stakeholders.
• Communicate the value of oncology products to customers.
• Navigate multidisciplinary teams and local market dynamics.
• Analyze trends in the buying environment across channels.
• Develop short- and long-term plans with the Oncology Customer Team Leader.

Education

Bachelor’s degree with at least 6 years of sales experience

High school diploma with at least 8 years of equivalent experience

Oncology/Healthcare sales experience (preferred)

Valid driver’s license

Travel flexibility (10-15%)
