Qualifications

We are looking for a capable resource to coordinate, ranging from simple activities to more complex plans. This role will provide on-site assistance to end-users within the organisation’s desktop computing environment in a timely and accurate fashion to ensure optimal service delivery.
Location: Bossier, Louisiana – USA
Contract Type: Independent Contractor

The Desktop Support Engineer role is responsible for providing first- and second-level technical support while also managing the efficient assignment and dispatch of service requests. This on-site role ensures end-user issues are resolved promptly—either directly or by coordinating with other technicians—by triaging tickets, prioritizing tasks, and maintaining strong communication between IT and users.

Key Responsibilities
● Provide on-site desktop and IT support for end users at the client location.
● Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Windows desktops, laptops, and peripherals.
● Install, configure, and maintain hardware, operating systems, and enterprise software applications.
● Support network connectivity issues, including LAN troubleshooting.
● Assist with device setup, replacement, and hardware installations.
● Perform basic network troubleshooting using console access when required.
● Document service activities and communicate updates to the service delivery team.
● Follow client IT policies and security procedures while performing onsite tasks.

Required Skills
● Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems and desktop environments
● Experience in hardware troubleshooting and replacement
● Basic understanding of networking (LAN connectivity, switches, routers)
● Ability to diagnose and resolve desktop, printer, and peripheral issues
● Good communication and customer service skills
● Ability to work independently in onsite support environments

Work Model
● On-demand / field support role
● Work assignments will be shared by the Service Delivery Team
● Engineers will be contacted via phone or email when support is required
● Engineers will receive site location, SPOC details, and reporting time before each assignment
● No guaranteed number of working hours
