Job summary

AECOM is seeking an experienced Structural Engineer to join our Water group in Chicago, IL, supporting design of new structures and structural forensic work for water treatment plants, commercial and industrial buildings.

The role involves field reviews, data collection, and occasional travel up to 30%. You will mentor junior engineers and contribute to proposals within budget and schedule.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in Structural Engineering and 4+ years of relevant experience.
• Master's degree in Structural Engineering is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Designs new structures and conducts structural forensic work for water facilities.
• Performs field reviews, collects data, and prepares detailed sketches.
• Uses structural software (RISA 3D, STAAD, AutoCAD, REVIT) and hand calculations.
• Supports proposals and reports with reasonable cost estimates and schedules.
• Mentors entry-level engineers and works within budget and schedule.

Education

BA/BS in Structural Engineering + 4 years experience

Master's degree in Structural Engineering (preferred)
