Job summary

ViaPath seeks a Telecommunication Technician 3 to join the Field Services team in Portland, OR. You will perform remedial repairs, preventive maintenance, and system reliability work with minimal supervision, supporting kiosk collection activities across the territory.

Responsibilities include on-site service, cabling, hardware replacement, and basic troubleshooting. Expect overtime and travel to customer sites as needed while upholding security guidelines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• 2–4 years of related experience preferred.
• Experience troubleshooting: define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw conclusions.
• Proficient in Windows OS and MS Office.
• Proficient with Telephony and Networking: copper, CAT5/6, fiber wiring.
• Knowledge of data cabling color code and fabrication.
• Must lift up to 10 lbs frequently, up to 100 lbs with assistance.
• Valid driver’s license; travel to customer sites daily; possible overnight trips.
• Work environment may include security requirements at client sites.
• Ability to work overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Serve as brand ambassador, delivering service excellence at customer sites.
• Maintain ViaPath products and assist customers as needed.
• Plan and prioritize service calls; communicate updates.
• Escalate issues when appropriate and interact professionally with customers.
• Replace telephony hardware and network components; basic maintenance.
• Install telephony hardware, pull cables, mount devices.
• Administer kiosk service and collections; handle jams and deposits.
• Troubleshoot hardware/software; support technical teams with fixes.
