Job summary

ViaPath in Hillsboro, OR is seeking a Telecommunication Technician 3 to join the Field Services team. You will perform remedial repair, preventive maintenance, and system reliability tasks at customer sites, often working independently with limited supervision.

The role requires troubleshooting, Windows, telephony, and networking proficiency, and a willingness to travel to multiple sites. You’ll serve as the on-site ambassador, handling installs and service coordination.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• 2–4 years of related field service experience.
• Proficient with Windows OS, MS Office, and telephony/networking.
• Willing to travel to customer sites daily, possibly overnight.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to lift up to 100 lbs with assistance.
• Experience with copper, CAT5/6, and fiber wiring is preferred.
• Security-conscious with access to government/jail environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide remedial repair, preventive maintenance, and system reliability services.
• Serve as on-site ambassador, delivering service excellence to customers.
• Prioritize and plan service calls; communicate updates.
• Replace telephony hardware and network components.
• Pull cable, install devices, and wire networking gear.
• Administer kiosk service and collections; handle jams and deposits.
• Troubleshoot video visitation, tablets, and Wi‑Fi connectivity.
• Return damaged equipment per RMAs and assist Technical Support.
• Work overtime or callouts as needed and travel between sites.
