Job summary

ViaPath Technologies seeks a Telecom Client Technician to join the Field Services team at the Portland client site. You will perform remedial repair, preventive maintenance, and system reliability tasks, potentially handling kiosk collections in an assigned territory.

The role emphasizes independent work under supervision, with travel across customer sites, and overtime expectations. A GED or high school diploma and 2–4 years of related experience are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2–4 years of related experience.
• Experience troubleshooting and ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions.
• Proficient in Windows OS, MS Office, and other required software.
• Proficient with telephony and networking, including copper, CAT5/6, and fiber optics.
• Valid driver's license; willingness to travel to customer sites, possibly overnight.
• Must be able to lift up to 100 pounds with assistance; security-sensitive environments may apply.
• Willing to work overtime and after-hours callouts.
• Knowledge of government/jail environments and related security guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Serve as ambassador for ViaPath and uphold service excellence.
• Oversee service of ViaPath products at customer sites and assist customers.
• Prioritize and plan service calls; communicate updates.
• Escalate problems when appropriate and interact professionally with customers.
• Act as point of contact for facility staff regarding customer accounts.
• Replace telephony hardware and network components; basic maintenance.
• Administer kiosk service and collections; deposit monies as needed.
• Troubleshoot hardware/software; assist Technical Support; maintain operating standards.
• Troubleshoot wiring and installations on 66-Blocks or Cutoff Switches.
• Handle special projects and potential overtime or travel as required.
