Job summary

Generac Power Systems is seeking an Systems Support Specialist II to provide onsite technical support at our Waukesha facility. You will resolve PC, printer, phone, and peripheral issues, assist with server and network tasks, and help roll out new applications and equipment.

The role requires strong Windows/Office knowledge, familiarity with healthcare and manufacturing IT policies, and the ability to work with vendors and cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• 2 years of experience troubleshooting PCs, printers, phone and network issues.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science preferred.
• Additional certifications: MCSE, MCTS, CNA, Avaya telephony certification or ITIL.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on support by installing, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining and upgrading laptops, desktops, phones, printers and peripherals.
• Support higher level specialists with server hardware, OS, network infrastructure and telephony.
• Triage, document and close incidents to minimize downtime and support SLAs.
• Create documentation on issues, root cause analysis and troubleshooting steps.
• Assist with implementations of business systems and manufacturing initiatives.
• Perform system upgrades and help migrate users to new applications.
• Participate in Tier 1 call/ticket queue as necessary.
• Maintain software/hardware asset inventory and ensure IT policy compliance.
• Collaborate with IT for policy development and cross-functional standards.
