Job summary

Via is seeking a General Manager to lead our Montgomery, AL intermodal service. You will own on-site operations, coordinate drivers and dispatchers, and build strong relationships with customers and community partners.

This role requires strategic thinking, hands-on leadership, and a focus on safety and reliability. You will mentor a team, drive performance against KPIs, and report weekly to senior management.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of operations management experience.
• Independent self-starter who thrives in fast-paced settings.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Strong leadership and people-development abilities.
• Detail-oriented with autonomous execution.
• Proven track record leading support teams.
• Willingness to adapt to rapid changes.
• Experience managing teams of 3–5 people.

Responsibilities

• Oversee on-site daily operations of Via’s Montgomery service.
• Prioritize issues as real-time contact for drivers and dispatchers.
• Mentor dispatchers and shift managers.
• Represent the operation to driver partners, customers, and local leaders.
• Collaborate with Via senior management and external partners.
• Develop KPIs and report weekly on results and priorities.
• Analyze reports to improve processes, allocate resources, and boost satisfaction.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and company policies.
• Lead, coach, and develop an engaged on-site team.
