Job summary

Cox Fleet is hiring a Mobile Trailer Technician II to join our on-site team. You will perform certified DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and light repairs on trailers and equipment, often at customer sites. The role emphasizes safety, documentation, and independent scheduling.

The ideal candidate has a HS diploma or GED, 3+ years in trailer-related work, and CDL-C with ASE T8 certification preferred. We offer paid weekly, tools, and growth opportunities within Cox Fleet.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED and 3 years' experience in a related field (Trailers). The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as any level degree/certification beyond a HS diploma/GED in a related discipline; or 5 years' experience in a related field.
• Possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary to perform required job duties.
• DOT/ FMCSA regulations awareness and safety training are expected.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs, DOT inspections, and follow-up repairs on trailers and equipment with minimal supervision.
• Document work, upload photos, and log findings on RO using iOS device and TRAIT app.
• Diagnose electrical components and troubleshoot trailer systems such as brakes, air lines, and pumps.
• Maintain company-provided service truck, conduct safety checks, and post-trip inspections.
• Communicate with customers and management to obtain approvals and discuss RO findings.
