Job summary

Cox Fleet is hiring a Mobile Trailer Technician II to perform certified DOT inspections, preventive maintenance, and light repairs at customer sites. Work includes trailer brakes, air lines, auxiliary pumps, and welding tasks as needed.

The role operates in a mobile/field environment with supervision for advanced tasks. Candidates must meet DOT and ASE requirements where applicable and maintain safety and documentation standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required; related discipline degrees/certifications considered.
• At least 3 years experience with refrigerated equipment preferred.
• ASE/T8 (PMI) certification within 18 months is required.
• DOT regulations knowledge and DOT medical card requirements may apply.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair trailers and equipment at customer sites, including brakes, air lines, pumps and engines.
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and DOT inspections.
• Manage parts and tools on the service truck and document work performed.
• Communicate with customers and management to obtain approvals and updates.
• Maintain safety, quality, and productivity standards on every job.
