Job summary

Cox Fleet is hiring a Mobile Diesel & Trailer Technician to perform DOT inspections, PMs, and repairs in a mobile/field setting. You will diagnose electrical, braking, cooling, and engine systems on trucks and trailers, document findings, and road test to ensure proper operation.

We require a HS diploma or better, 3–5 years of related experience, and ASE T8 certification within 18 months. Interstate work, DOT compliance, and a valid license are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED with 3 years’ related field experience, or 5 years’ equivalent.
• Possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary to perform required duties.
• Obtain ASE certification T8 (PMI) within eighteen (18) months.
• This position follows DOT/FMCSA regulations; ability to pass pre-employment background screening and DOT physical.
• Must be at least 21 years old due to interstate commerce requirements.
• Valid state driver’s license and ability to obtain Driver Qualification File.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled PM, DOT Inspections and follow-up repairs on light, medium and heavy-duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment.
• Diagnose, adjust, and repair electrical, brake, cooling, engine, and transmission systems on trucks and trailers.
• Inspect, test and document findings on Repair Orders using mobile devices and TRAIT app.
• Road test vehicles to verify repairs and ensure proper operation.
• Maintain and operate company vehicles and manage parts inventory for service trucks.
