Job summary

Cox Fleet, a leading provider of on-site fleet maintenance, is hiring a Mobile Diesel Technician Level II. You will perform DOT inspections, PMs, and light to heavy repairs in a mobile/field setting. You’ll diagnose electrical, brake, cooling, engine, and transmission systems while managing parts on a company truck and using TRAIT on iOS.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent with 3 years related field experience; or 5 years related field experience.
• Own a set of hand tools necessary for job duties.
• ASE T8 (PMI) certification required within 18 months.
• Must complete DOT-regulated pre-employment background screening and DOT physical.
• Possess a valid DOT medical card or plan to obtain DOT physical if needed.
• Must be at least 21 years old and hold a valid driver’s license with ability to obtain a DQ file.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled PM, DOT Inspections, and follow-up repairs on light, medium, and heavy‑duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, brake, cooling, engine, transmission, and hydraulic systems.
• Inspect, test, and listen to equipment to diagnose malfunctions using diagnostic tools.
• Road test vehicles to verify repairs and ensure proper operation.
• Maintain service truck and inventory; document repairs and RO notes via TRAIT app.
• Communicate with management for approvals on estimates and PO numbers.
• Adhere to OSHA, EPA and DOT safety standards and company policies.
