Job summary

Cox Fleet is seeking a Mobile Diesel Technician Level II to perform licensed DOT inspections, PMs and light to medium/heavy repairs in a mobile/field environment. You will diagnose, test, and repair truck systems, manage parts and document findings via a company app.

The role requires ASE T8 PMI certification within 18 months, a valid driver’s license, and meeting DOT requirements. Strong problem-solving and customer relation skills are essential.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED with 3 years’ related experience, or equivalent
• Must supply a set of hand tools to perform duties
• Achieve ASE T8 PMI certification within 18 months
• Must pass DOT pre-employment background check and DOT physical
• Must be at least 21 years old and hold a valid driver’s license

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled PM and DOT inspections on light to heavy-duty vehicles in mobile/field environments
• Carry out minor repairs on electrical, brakes, cooling systems, engines, transmissions and other truck components
• Diagnose issues with various truck equipment using diagnostic tools and test instruments
• Conduct road tests to verify proper operation after repairs
• Maintain and organize parts inventory and company vehicle, per policy
• Document work using company TRAIT app and upload RO photos and findings
• Obtain approvals for repairs and PO numbers from management as needed
• Adhere to safety, health and environmental policies and DOT regulations
