Job summary

Cox Fleet is hiring a Mobile Diesel Technician Level II to perform DOT inspections, preventative maintenance and light to heavy-duty repairs in a mobile/field setting. The role requires diagnosing issues, maintaining the service truck, and communicating with clients to meet repair expectations.

The ideal candidate will have a HS diploma or GED, 3–5 years of relevant experience, and ASE T8 certification within 18 months; DOT and driving requirements apply.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED with 3 years’ related field experience (or 5 years)
• Possess a set of hand tools necessary to perform required job duties
• Obtain ASE T8 (PMI) certification within 18 months
• DOT pre-employment background screening and DOT physical required
• Must be 21+ years due to interstate operating authority
• Valid driver’s license and ability to maintain Driver Qualification File

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled PMs, DOT inspections and follow-up repairs on light, medium and heavy-duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment
• Diagnose and repair electrical, brake, cooling, engine, transmission and other truck systems
• Inspect, test and listen to equipment to diagnose malfunctions
• Road test vehicles to verify proper operation after service
• Manage parts inventory and use company-issued service truck and tools
• Document findings and parts used on RO using company iOS TRAIT app and photo uploads
