Job summary

Cox Fleet By Cox Automotive is seeking a Mobile Diesel Technician Level II to perform licensed DOT inspections and preventative maintenance on a range of vehicles in a mobile, field environment. You will diagnose light to heavy-duty systems, conduct repairs, and ensure compliance with DOT regulations.

The role requires HS diploma/GED with related experience, ASE T8 PMI within 18 months, and ability to obtain a DOT medical card. A valid driver’s license and safety-focused mindset are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED and relevant field experience or equivalent combination.
• ASE T8 (PMI) certification within 18 months of hire.
• ASE T3/T4 certifications preferred.
• DOT medical card or ability to obtain one.
• DOT/FMCSA regulated pre-employment screening required.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and DOT inspections on mobile fleet vehicles.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, braking, cooling, and engine systems in a field setting.
• Conduct safety checks and pre-/post-trip inspections on service vehicles.
• Obtain parts from approved vendors and document work performed.
• Maintain and operate company-provided service truck and tools.
