Compass Rose Public Schools seeks an IT Specialist to provide desktop, server, and networking support for campuses in Bastrop and Manor, TX. The role involves troubleshooting a range of technical issues, hardware repair, and ensuring technology supports daily operations and the instructional program.

The position emphasizes front-line IT support, asset management, and compliance with security and SLAs, requiring strong communication and teamwork with teachers and staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; further education preferred.
• CompTIA A+ certification and Google IT Support certification are advantageous.
• Experience in technical support with strong communication is desired.

Responsibilities

• Provide Tier 1–2 desktop support for Windows, iOS, and Chrome OS devices.
• Support printers, projectors, and classroom equipment.
• Install and troubleshoot client, cloud, and network software.
• Image and deploy new hardware; asset tagging and initial user training.
• Use ticketing system to manage requests and adhere to SLAs.
• Document policies and knowledge base for better support.
• Conduct asset audits and maintain inventory accuracy.
• Assist campuses with device distribution during year transitions.
• Travel between Bastrop and Manor campuses for on-site support.
• Handle onboarding/offboarding tasks and device reassignment.
• Perform routine maintenance, updates, and health checks.
• Support cybersecurity best practices and incident reporting.
• Provide basic user training and follow escalation protocols.
• Participate in incident response and disaster recovery.
