Job summary

Compucom Systems, Inc. is seeking a Field Tech II to deliver hands-on IT support for national clients. This on-site role requires strong customer service and the ability to work independently while traveling a wide daily radius.

You will troubleshoot IT equipment, repair POS and printer systems, and document all actions. The job emphasizes reliability, safe lifting, and excellent communication in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• One year IT technical support experience.
• Cash recycler repair experience is highly preferred.
• CompTIA A+ certification preferred.
• Net+ CompTIA certification preferred.
• Driver's License is required.

Responsibilities

• THIS IS NOT A REMOTE POSITION.
• Must be able to work in physically demanding environment (Lifting, bending, climbing, walking extensively).
• Exceptional Customer Service and relationship building competence.
• Must be self-motivated, punctual, and able to work independently.
• Must have a working cell phone.
• Travel within a radius of 25 to 150+ miles daily in a specific route.
• Understand AC/DC and backup power concepts.
• Excellent time management and reporting skill.
• Familiar with various operating systems (Windows OS, OSX, Linux/Unix).
• Manage triage, troubleshooting and resolution to client scope on IT equipment.
• Occasionally works at heights of 20’ to 25’, lift equipment training provided.
• Document efforts, issues and resolutions, close cases/tickets daily.
• Experience in copper and fiber cabling and various terminating connectors.
• Proficient communicator with emotional intelligence insight for explaining IT terminologies at client level.
