Job summary

D.R. Horton, America’s Builder, seeks a Superintendent to manage multifamily home construction from permit to closing. You will schedule subcontractors, supervise on-site activities and ensure safety standards while delivering quality homes on time.

The role emphasizes customer service, coordination with sales and warranty teams, and maintaining site cleanliness and regulatory compliance throughout the build process.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; two to four years’ related experience preferred.
• Proven interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to read/interpret construction documents and plans.
• Knowledge of building codes and municipal permitting processes.
• Proficient in MS Office and email; able to use construction apps.
• Able to manage budgets and control cost overruns.

Responsibilities

• Manage the construction schedule and ensure quality on time and on budget.
• Coordinate and evaluate subcontractor work for compliance and efficiency.
• Complete homes from planning through occupancy per contract obligations.
• Oversee quality, conduct homeowner orientations and progress updates.
• Maintain site cleanliness and ensure professional appearance during construction.
• Handle post-close warranty support and coordinate subcontractors as needed.
• Communicate with sales, warranty and management to resolve issues.
