Job summary

D.R. Horton, Inc., the largest homebuilder in the U.S., is seeking a Superintendent to oversee site construction from permit to occupancy.

You will schedule and supervise subcontractors, ensure adherence to plans and codes, and maintain safety standards while delivering quality homes. The role requires coordinating customer walkthroughs, inspections, and post-close warranty activities, with emphasis on communication and on-time delivery.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Two to four years related experience
• Ability to manage and complete the 13 Milestones of Construction in JDE
• Must have a vehicle and valid driver’s license
• Ability to read and interpret construction documents and drawings
• Knowledge of municipal permitting, regulations and building codes
• Strong communication skills
• Budget management ability
• Proficiency with MS Office and email

Responsibilities

• Manage the construction schedule and ensure the highest quality product is delivered on time and within budget
• Schedule all involved subcontractors for each phase of construction and evaluate quality and efficiency
• Complete each home site on schedule from planning through occupancy
• Inspect and determine subcontractor’s workmanship and product quality is completed on time and within defined scope of work
• Authorize payment of subcontractors when standards are met after inspection
• Manage the customer experience throughout the construction process
• Monitor community cleanliness and ensure a professional site
• Manage the post-close warranty process and address warranty requests
• Follow up with homeowners to address concerns promptly
• Maintain knowledge of applicable building codes
• Collaborate with sales, warranty, and management for open communication
• Conduct business professionally to enhance goodwill and profitability
• Willingness to work additional hours as needed
• Stay aware of health and safety standards
