Job summary

D.R. Horton is seeking a Superintendent to manage all functions of the job site from permit to closing, ensuring high quality construction and customer service. You will schedule subcontractors, supervise work, coordinate inspections, and maintain safety standards across multiple homes.

The role requires staying on schedule and within budget, direct interaction with homeowners, and collaboration with sales and warranty teams to resolve issues effectively.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 2–4 years of related construction experience.
• Ability to read and interpret construction documents and plans.
• Knowledge of municipal permitting, regulations, and building codes.
• Strong communication skills with customers and teams.
• Willingness to travel between communities and drive as needed.
• Proficiency with MS Office; DRH construction apps a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage the construction schedule to deliver quality homes on time and within budget.
• Coordinate and evaluate subcontractors for compliance with plans and codes.
• Complete each home site from planning to occupancy, meeting contract obligations.
• Inspect workmanship and halt non-compliant work.
• Authorize subcontractor payments after inspection.
• Guide the customer experience through the construction process, with regular updates.
• Maintain site cleanliness and organization throughout construction.
• Manage post-close warranty process and respond to warranty requests.
