Job summary

Intertape Polymer Group is seeking a Field Service Technician to perform on-site maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs of IPG/Better Packages equipment at customer sites. The role emphasizes hands-on mechanical and electrical aptitude, strong customer communication, and independent field work to keep equipment running.

Responsibilities include PM programs, software upgrades on WAT units, and training customer teams.

Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent required; technical degree preferred.
Ability to diagnose electrical and electromechanical faults at customer sites.
Strong mechanical skills and safe repair/assembly capabilities.
Experience with packaging automation systems is preferred.
Proficiency using diagnostic tools and PC documentation tools.
Excellent communication for customer interactions.

Responsibilities

Perform on-site installation, repair, and preventive maintenance on IPG/Better Packages equipment.
Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and minor automation issues using tools and docs.
Provide on-the-job training to customer maintenance teams as needed.
Schedule and execute Preventive Maintenance programs to minimize downtime.
Document service actions, complete work orders, and report issues.
Upgrade software on WAT units and other equipment when required.
Support senior technicians on complex field service jobs and escalations.
Travel to customer sites up to 30% and maintain accurate records.
