Job summary

Intertape Polymer Group in New York seeks a Field Service Technician to perform on-site maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs of IPG/Better Packages equipment at customer locations. You will ensure equipment uptime, support production needs, and deliver high-level technical service in the field.

The role requires hands-on mechanical and electrical aptitude, strong communication with customers, and the ability to work independently while representing IPG at customer sites.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate degree in a technical field preferred.
• Experience diagnosing faults at customer sites.
• Strong communication to explain technical issues.
• Ability to travel up to 30% weekly.
• Proficient with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain expert knowledge of IPG/Better Packages products, including system features, electrical and mechanical components, automation interfaces, and operational capabilities.
• Perform on-site installation, repair, and preventive maintenance on customer-owned IPG/Better Packages equipment.
• Establish, schedule, and execute Preventive Maintenance programs for end-user accounts.
• Assist with field testing, evaluation, and troubleshooting of new products and prototypes.
• Follow field service communication procedures, including RMAs and work orders.
• Perform software upgrades on WAT units and other equipment when required.
• Support Senior Technicians during complex field service jobs and escalations.
• Conduct other field-related duties including emergencies, training, and equipment audits.
