Job summary

Hensel Phelps in Montgomery, AL, seeks a Quality Control Engineer for a full‑time, on‑site role on a major construction project. You will work with owner’s QA teams, review specifications, and manage inspections and punch lists to ensure compliance.

Candidates should have a 4‑year degree in civil/structural engineering, architecture, or construction management, 1–2 years on large projects, and proficiency with Excel, Prolog, Primavera, and AutoCAD.

Qualifications

• A 4-year degree in civil or structural engineering, architecture, or construction management.
• Experience on large commercial construction projects (1–2 years).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with MS Office, Excel templates, Prolog, Primavera and AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

• Interface directly with the owner’s quality assurance team on all quality‑related issues.
• Be technically experienced and capable of interpreting specifications, standards, and codes for all disciplines.
• Participate in submittal reviews, weekly QC meetings and preparatory meetings.
• Perform initial and follow‑up inspections and manage the punch list process.
• Ensure trade partner work complies with project specs and codes.
• Maintain records of inspections, tests, and findings.
• Initiate deficiency reports and track resolution to stakeholders.
• Coordinate with third‑party testing and source inspections.
