Job summary

Hensel Phelps is seeking a Quality Control Engineer to oversee project-level QC activities, perform inspections, and coordinate corrective actions. The role requires a 4-year civil/structural or construction management degree and 1–2 years on large commercial projects. Strong communication and MS Office proficiency are essential.

Expect to work closely with trade partners, participate in QC meetings, and manage the punch list and testing coordination. A valid driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level degree in civil/structural engineering, architecture, or construction management.
• 1–2 years’ experience on large commercial construction projects.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with MS Office; Excel templates; Prolog; Primavera; AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

• Interface with the owner's QA team on quality-related issues.
• Review specifications, standards, and code requirements for all disciplines.
• Attend submittal reviews and QC meetings; manage punch list process.
• Conduct inspections to verify trades meet project specs and codes.
• Maintain inspection records and test results; initiate and track deficiency reports.
• Coordinate with third-party testing and source inspections; engage testing agencies as needed.
