Job summary

QTS Realty Trust is seeking a Critical Operations Technician I to install, repair, and maintain IT, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing equipment inside and outside data center facilities. This on-site role supports a 24x7x365 environment, handles tickets, and assists customers on the data floor both in person and by phone.

You will perform tests, rounds, and data analysis to ensure proper operation, escalate to systems engineers when needed, and help with hardware/software configurations while

Qualifications

• Two or more years of technical training, military training, or workplace equivalency.
• Background in IT, electrical, and/or mechanical.
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Apply IT, electrical, and mechanical knowledge to building systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance on mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Record readings and adjust as needed to ensure proper operation.
• Provide remote hands and eyes services for customers.
• Provide high level computer hardware and software configuration support.
• Install data center equipment per provisioning documentation and procedures.
• Install and repair IT, mechanical, and electrical equipment as required; assist team members.
• Process work orders for preventive and corrective maintenance on critical, building, and site infrastructure.
• Create and update tickets addressing customer calls and alerts.
• Operate and monitor critical and non-critical system equipment for safe operation.
• Respond to building emergencies and customer requests.
• Comply with policies for safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials.
• Use Change Management Process to approve maintenance.
• Complete maintenance with documentation using QTS processes.
