Job summary

QTS Realty Trust is seeking a Critical Operations Technician I to maintain electrical, mechanical, HVAC and IT systems inside a 24x7 data center. This on-site role requires hands-on maintenance and strong teamwork to ensure continuous availability for customers.

You will work with IT and facilities teams, perform routine preventive tasks, handle repairs, and support ticketing and incident response. On-site presence is required in a fast-paced data center environment.

Qualifications

• Two or more years of technical or trade training or equivalent.
• Background in facilities maintenance, electrical, mechanical, HVAC or IT hardware/cabling.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• One or more years of work experience in data center, commercial or industrial environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on mechanical, electrical, HVAC and IT equipment and monitor readings.
• Install and repair IT, electrical and mechanical equipment; assist with major repairs.
• Provide high level computer hardware and software configuration support.
• Install cabling, racks, cabinets and customer equipment per documentation and procedures.
• Process work orders for maintenance activities and update tickets in the system.
• Coordinate with supervisor to order tools and parts as needed.
• Respond to building emergencies and customer requests as required.
• Follow Change Management process and company safety policies.
