Job summary

QTS Data Centers is seeking a Critical Operations Technician I to install, repair, and maintain IT, electrical, mechanical, plumbing and related equipment inside a 24x7x365 data center. You will monitor building systems, run tests, analyze data, and assist customers on the Data Center floor, handling installs and tickets in our system.

The role requires on-site work hours with no remote option, strong technical background in IT/electrical/mechanical areas, and the ability to escalate to systems

Qualifications

• Two or more years of technical training, military training, or workplace equivalency.
• Background in IT, electrical, and/or mechanical.
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Applies learning, knowledge, skills, and company policies to IT, electrical and mechanical equipment and systems.
• Leads, maintains, and performs preventive maintenance on mechanical and electrical equipment; records readings and adjusts as needed.
• Provide remote hands and eyes services for customers.
• Provide high level computer hardware and software configuration support and install infrastructure per documentation.
• Installs and repairs IT, mechanical, and electrical equipment; assists team with major repairs.
• Process work orders for preventative and corrective maintenance; consults with supervisor to order tools and equipment.
• Create/update tickets for customer calls, facility, network, and system alerts.
• Operate and monitor critical and non-critical system equipment; ensure safe operation.
• Respond to building emergencies and customer requests.
• Follow Change Management process for maintenance and documentation.
