Job summary

The Scion Group LLC is seeking a General Manager to lead a living‑community operation in Baton Rouge, LA. You will drive staffing, budgeting and service delivery, partnering with Talent Acquisition, Legal, and Facilities to ensure a high‑performing property.

The role demands decisive leadership, customer focus, and hands‑on involvement in turnover, capital projects, and resident experience, with emphasis on cost control and revenue growth in a fast‑paced collegiate setting.

Qualifications

• 3+ years’ experience managing living communities and a team of 3+.
• Proficient in Property Management Systems (Entrata preferred).
• Exceptional written and verbal communicator with strong time management.
• Vendor management and confidentiality within a fast-paced setting.
• Customer-centric mindset with leadership capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Staff Development and Leadership: partner with Talent Acquisition and HR Operations to attract and hire; train and develop team; schedule staffing including after‑hours on‑call; elevate employee experience.
• Property Administration: engage Legal for vendor management, risk, contracts; conduct quarterly inspections; address property issues.
• Facilities & Capital: ensure safe, sanitary, and compliant operations; conduct monthly walks; maintain permits; identify capex needs and obtain approvals; solicit vendor bids.
• Annual Turnover Process: plan turnover with AGMs and Facilities; staff adequately; forecast expenses; use Turnable; perform move-out inspections and related tasks.
• Financial Performance: collaborate on budgets, expenditures, invoicing, payroll, inventory; seek revenue opportunities and cost savings.
• Customer Experience & Sales: uphold CX philosophy, monitor feedback, hit KPIs and revenue targets; support escalations and drive leasing velocity.
