Job summary

Asset Living, based in Durham, NC, is seeking a Community Manager to oversee a housing community’s on-site operations and staff under the Regional Manager. You will supervise leasing, maintenance, finance, and risk management while ensuring fair housing compliance and safety across the property.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; bachelor’s degree preferred or 4 years in housing; or 1–2 years related experience.
• Certified Apartment Manager (CAM) or Accredited Resident Manager (ARM) preferred.
• Ability to understand and operate on-site software and basic computer skills.
• Familiarity with Fair Housing Laws and OSHA requirements.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily on-site operations, staffing, leasing, maintenance, and finances.
• Supervise staff, provide coaching, and ensure compliance with policies and safety rules.
• Develop operating budgets, monitor deposits and rent collections, and manage vendor invoices.
• Lead marketing, leasing strategies, resident relations, and retention programs.
• Plan for emergencies, maintain property appearance, and ensure timely reporting.
• Coordinate with regional leadership to meet performance and compliance targets.
