Job summary

Wolfoods is seeking an experienced Assistant Kitchen Manager for a hands-on, on-site leadership role at rural summer camp facilities across the US. You will oversee all prep and production for your day part, manage staff, and ensure allergen safety in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen.

This is a live-in, seasonal contract (May–Sept) with 6 days / 70 hours per week, offering competitive pay, a bonus, and full room & board. You will drive quality and safety while partnering with camp leadership.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in a commercial kitchen leadership role with scratch and institutional/batch baking experience.
• ServSafe Allergens certification required before start date; company-sponsored.
• Strong leadership, scratch baking, versatile with ingredients, and sharp problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to stand for extended periods, work in hot/cold kitchen settings, and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ready to live on-site in a rustic setting, work a demanding minimum 6-day/70-hour week, and thrive under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Lead and train kitchen staff; foster a high-energy, positive environment.
• Operational flow, portion control, menu specs, scratch cooking execution, and timely meal service.
• Strictly manage food allergy protocols and maintain top Health Department sanitation standards.
• Manage inventory and assist with daily reporting.
• Serve as a liaison between kitchen operations, campers, and camp leadership.
