Job summary

Turner Construction Company is seeking a Lead Design & Engineering (D&E) professional for xPL Offsite manufacturing initiatives in Chicago, coordinating architecture, structure, MEP, and prefabrication teams. You will guide design from intake through production release and installation support, driving value, quality, and timely delivery.

The role requires strong BIM/Rev it skills, extensive experience in design management, and travel to facilities and sites as needed, with a focus on lean,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred with 8+ years progressive experience in design project management within construction/offsite manufacturing.
• Licensure or certification (PE/RA, PMP, LEED) preferred.
• Experience managing multi-disciplinary design teams, schedules, budgets, and complex projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead D&E project execution across architectural, structural, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, prefabrication, manufacturing, and installation stakeholders.
• Develop and manage design schedules, budgets, and resource plans to achieve on-time, on-budget delivery.
• Coordinate with internal and external teams to integrate design intent with manufacturability and lean offsite practices.
• Oversee BIM models, drawings, specifications, and documentation to meet codes and standards.
• Facilitate design reviews, value engineering, and constructability to improve outcomes.
• Maintain D&E deliverables tracker and manage risks, changes, and issues.
