Job summary

Turner Construction Company is seeking a senior leader to manage Design & Engineering (D&E) for xPL Offsite manufacturing projects in Chicago. You will coordinate architectural, structural, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, prefabrication, manufacturing, and installation stakeholders to deliver fabrication-ready design packages.

Lead design schedules, budgets, and resources; ensure compliance with codes and client requirements; promote lean and innovative offsite construction practices across

Qualifications

• 8+ years in design project management within construction, prefabrication, modular/offsite manufacturing, design-build, or AEC industry.
• Professional licensure or certification such as PE/RA or PMP/LEED preferred
• Experience with BIM processes and Revit, AutoCAD; ERP/MRP a plus
• Knowledge of building codes and safety standards; lean design/manufacturing
• Track record delivering multi-disciplinary design teams on time and within budget

Responsibilities

• Lead D&E project execution for xPL Offsite manufacturing initiatives across disciplines.
• Develop and manage design schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
• Coordinate with internal teams and external consultants to integrate design with manufacturability.
• Ensure designs meet specifications, quality, and contractual requirements.
• Oversee production of BIM models, drawings, specs, and documentation.
• Facilitate design reviews, value engineering, and constructability assessments.
• Maintain D&E deliverables tracker and manage changes and risks.
• Support use of digital tools to enhance efficiency and collaboration.
• Travel periodically to manufacturing facilities and project sites.
