Job summary

Turner Construction Company is seeking a Lead Design & Engineering (D&E) professional for xPL Offsite manufacturing initiatives in Chicago, IL. You will coordinate multi-disciplinary teams to produce fabrication-ready design packages and ensure alignment with project objectives.

Responsibilities include managing schedules, budgets, and deliverables, reviewing drawings, BIM models, and specifications, and driving value engineering and constructability across offsite projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• 8+ years of progressive design project management experience in construction or offsite manufacturing.
• Licensure or certification such as PE/RA or PMP/LEED preferred.
• Experience managing design teams and budgets on multi-disciplinary projects.
• Strong knowledge of BIM processes, Revit, AutoCAD; ERP/MRP experience is a plus.
• Familiarity with codes, safety standards, lean design/manufacturing principles.

Responsibilities

• Lead D&E project execution across architectural, structural, mechanical, plumbing, and electrical teams.
• Develop and manage design schedules, budgets, and resources to achieve on-time delivery.
• Coordinate with internal/external teams to align design with manufacturability and OSC best practices.
• Review and approve OSM drawings and specifications for compliance.
• Oversee BIM models, drawings, BOMs, and documentation.
• Conduct design reviews and value engineering to optimize fabrication opportunities.
• Maintain D&E deliverables tracker and manage risk/changes.
• Travel periodically to facilities/sites as needed.
