Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a Staffing and Scheduling Clerk in Worcester, MA. This role manages the hospital’s sick line for nursing, updates schedules in Kronos, and assists with payroll data and overtime approvals.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to prepare routine administrative paperwork.
• Knowledge of planning and scheduling techniques.
• Good organizational and record maintenance skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Reviews staffing grids to ensure appropriate staffing levels at shift start.
• Manages the sick call line for Nursing units.
• Prepares daily sign-in sheets for staff in areas using Kronos.
• Updates the active schedule in Kronos with changes daily.
• Obtains management authorization for overtime and time-off requests.
• Assists with covering staffing vacancies created by sick calls, leaves, or personal time.
• Maintains records for leaves of absence and schedule changes.
