Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a Staffing Scheduler to identify staffing needs, manage scheduling in our automated system, and collaborate with nursing leadership. The role supports patient flow, overtime control, and data reporting across the department.

The position requires a high school diploma, strong organizational and communication skills, and experience with scheduling software. On-site work in Massachusetts with potential signing bonus eligibility.

Qualifications

• Must have basic medical terminology.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong follow-up and communication skills.
• Ability to build positive working relationships.
• Proficiency in MS Office and ability to learn scheduling software.
• Experience with automated scheduling systems preferred.
• English language proficiency required.

Responsibilities

• Identify staffing needs and coordinate with managers.
• Accurately enter new hires into scheduling systems and update schedules.
• Compile daily staffing information and share with managers.
• Participate in daily patient flow huddles.
• Make calls to fill staffing needs and communicate changes to charge nurses.
• Identify overtime and help reduce expenses.
• Coordinate payroll data entry and timesheets.
• Serve as superuser for scheduling software.
• Enter personnel data into scheduling system.
• Produce productivity and attendance reports for Finance and CNO.
• Provide scheduling system training to new nurse managers and supervisors.
• Validate schedule accuracy and provide daily staffing reports.
