Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking an evenings-shift Staffing Coordinator to support nursing management in day-to-day staffing coordination. You will manage input into the electronic scheduling system, maintain time and attendance records, and assist with payroll processing.

Responsibilities include updating schedules, posting staffing needs, and communicating with managers. The role requires strong organizational, communication, and scheduling skills within a hospital setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Knowledge of basic medical terminology.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong follow up skills.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships.
• Basic knowledge of MS Office applications and the ability to learn new software programs rapidly.
• Knowledge of automated scheduling systems.
• Ability to read, write and speak clearly in English.

Responsibilities

• Identifies staffing needs and confers with appropriate managers throughout the day.
• Responsible for accurate entry in the automated scheduling system and updates to schedules.
• Compiles daily staffing information and discusses with managers.
• Participates in daily Patient Flow bed meetings and huddles.
• Makes calls to fill staffing needs and communicates changes to charge nurses.
• Identifies overtime staffing and supports expense reduction.
