Job summary

South Shore Health is seeking a Nursing Assistant to support patient care across nursing units, including safe transport of patients by wheelchair or stretcher, and handling basic clerical tasks to keep the unit running smoothly.

You will observe patients, report changes to the RN, and assist with care under supervision while maintaining accurate documentation and upholding a culture of safety, hand hygiene, and patient privacy.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous Nursing Assistant or equivalent experience preferred.
• BLS certification required.
• Basic medical terminology knowledge.
• Basic computer skills and documenting information accurately.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients and staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct/non-direct patient care under licensed personnel.
• Observe, assess, report patient data/status to the assigned RN.
• Assist with safe patient transport and documentation of services.
• Support receptionist and clerical tasks to facilitate unit operations.
• Participate in safety and infection control practices.
