Job summary

South Shore Health is seeking a Nursing Assistant to support patient care across nursing units, assist with transport via wheelchair or stretcher, and perform receptionist and clerical duties to keep the unit running smoothly.

Under the supervision of licensed staff, you will observe and report patient data, respond to acuity changes, maintain BLS certification, and contribute to a culture of safety and high-quality care.

Qualifications

• Nursing Assistant experience preferred.
• BLS certification required.
• Basic medical terminology knowledge.
• Basic computer skills and documentation.
• Effective communication with patients and staff.

Responsibilities

• Observes, assesses, and reports patient data to the RN.
• Responds to acuity and emergent situations as directed.
• Provides direct or indirect patient care under supervision.
• Performs general receptionist and clerical tasks to support the unit.
• Ensures patient safety via proper identification and use of safety devices.
• Maintains compliance with hand hygiene, PPE, and privacy policies.
• Participates in ongoing professional development and training.
