Job summary

South Shore Health is seeking a Nursing Assistant to support patient care across nursing units. The role includes safe patient transport, observation duties, and clerical tasks to keep the unit functioning smoothly.

The incumbent will observe and report patient data to the RN, respond to acuity and emergencies, and maintain current BLS certification while adhering to hospital policies and maintaining professional relationships across disciplines.

Qualifications

• Minimum Education - High School Diploma/GED preferred.
• Minimum Work Experience - Previous Nursing Assistant or equivalent experience preferred.
• Required Classes/Skills - BLS - Basic Life Support.
• Required additional Knowledge and Abilities - Basic medical terminology, basic computer skills, ability to communicate effectively and document information accurately, ability to interact with diverse individuals.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct/non-direct patient care under the direct supervision of licensed personnel.
• Observes, obtains and reports patient data/status to assigned RN.
• Responds to acuity and emergent situations as directed by nursing staff.
• Utilizes software applications required by department and unit standards.
