Job summary

South Shore Health is seeking a Nursing Assistant to support patient care across nursing areas, including safe transport of patients and documentation of services. The role also serves as an observer for patients requiring constant observation to maximize safety and performs receptionist and clerical duties to keep the unit efficient.

Key responsibilities include reporting patient data to the RN, responding to acuity changes, maintaining certification, and supporting a culture of safety.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous Nursing Assistant or equivalent experience preferred.
• BLS certification required; basic medical terminology; basic computer skills; effective communication and accurate documentation.

Responsibilities

• Assist in patient care under supervision and report data/status to RN.
• Safely transport patients via wheelchair or stretcher as needed.
• Assist with reception and clerical duties to support unit operations.
• Maintain a culture of safety and compliance with hospital policies.
