Job summary

Transaction Network Services (TNS) is seeking a NOC Technician for our Network Operations Center in Illinois. You will monitor networks, respond to alarms, document incidents, and coordinate with customers and vendors to mitigate service impact.

The role requires strong troubleshooting, familiarity with IP networks, LTE tech, BGP, and ticketing systems. Shift work including nights and weekends is required in a 24/7 operation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a technical field.
• Experience in a Network Operations Center or similar operational support.
• Strong verbal and written English communication.
• Experience with IP networking and WAN protocols.
• Basic proficiency Unix/Linux.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Monitor network surveillance systems, respond to alarms and manage a phone queue for direct support calls.
• Manage and resolve assigned incident tickets.
• Provide direct support to internal and external customers to mitigate service impact.
• Troubleshoot and perform root cause analysis for network events across IPX, IP, and signaling platforms.
• Interface with customers, carriers, and vendors; perform routine maintenance on network elements.
• Work a rotating shift to support 24x7 operations; nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
